John A. Griffin comes to Cambridge Local First as a Central Square resident who has lived in Cambridge since his time as an undergraduate at Harvard. A native of Walpole, Massachusetts, John is currently a policy associate at Democrats for Education Reform. He learned the value of small business from his family, whose history of small business ownership began with his great-grandfather, a Greek-American immigrant who opened a Boston-area general store.
John is an experienced policy associate with demonstrated history of writing communications materials that advance equity-driven policies. Skills include writing, editing, research, communications strategy, and language acquisition. John’s goal is to use writing to build a more just society through the political process.
